Boating – take a boat trip along the coast visiting the caves from Carvoeiro or Benagil beach.

Cruise – half day or full day cruises along the Algarve’s spectacular coast. Boats operate from Portimao.

Fishing – with light tackle for Bass and Sea Bream for an inexpensive day out.

River Cruise – from Portimao to Silves and back.



Horse Riding – through soft, sandy, coastal pinewoods or along stony trails in the hills on part Lusitano horses – hardy, medium sized horses of good temperament.

Tennis - can be booked by the hour on any of the many private courts. Local tennis and bowls competitions are almost all open to visitors.

Watersports – Scuba diving facilities in Carvoeiro (P.A.D.I.). Windsurfing, skiing & sailing facilities in Ferragudo.

Waterparks – Family fun days out at Slide & Splash and Aqualand.

Zoomarine – a superb ocean theme park. Great entertainment and education for children and adults. Near Guia.

Shopping – Algarve Shopping between Albufeira and Guia on the N125 is a modern centre – air conditioned with a food court and shops to suit all tastes and pockets. Pottery shops dot the N125. Portimao has a good selection of high quality shops.

Markets – A flea market is held in Ferragudo once a month. Many villages and towns have markets or flea markets between March and December each year. Call at the tourist information for directions and dates.
