| Warm
sandy beaches sheltered by beautiful cliffs with their famous
rock formations combined with a wonderful sunny climate gives
the Algarve a world renowned reputation.

Situated
along the coastline between Portimao and Carvoeiro, the
village of Ferragudo remains unspoilt, by-passed by the
development of commercial tourism. This picturesque village
is the most attractive fishing village in the Algarve. Our
holiday apartment Alto Vista is to be found on the south
side of the village, just behind the church, and enjoys
views over the marina towards the lively town of Portimao.
Its beach is possibly one of the more notable in the Algarve.
The heart of the village is a short 5 minute stroll through
narrow cobbled streets meandering down to the square and
waterfront which hosts a wealth of restaurants and cafes.
For those looking for an active holiday, golf courses, beach
watersports, horse riding, hiking trails and a tennis centre
are a short drive away.
The nearest beach is less than 5 minutes walk. Cliff top
walks and secluded coves are only a short stroll away.
Ferragudo village has a bank, post office, internet café
and many choices of places to eat. During the summer months
a water taxi will ferry you across the estuary to Portimao
or the marina.

'We had a fantastic holiday in Ferragudo, we thought it was
a lovely place. It was very unspoilt and we loved the way that
the Portugese every day life went on around us. It was good
to sit in the square in the mornings and read the paper with
a cappuccino (ice creams for the girls!!) then wander to the
bakery then back up to the apartment. We ate out a lot and particularly
liked the Ferragood restaurant, the people there were so friendly.
